Satellites whizzing around the globe track Global Positioning System receivers for devices ranging from cars to phones to watches, and Lord knows what else.

And you mean to tell me that the NFL cannot find a more effective technology to determine definitively whether a stuffed piece of pigskin has, or has not, crossed that demarcated plane known as the "goal line" than asking an over-the-hill, part-time ref to just size it up with his bare eyeballs?
